LHC
The LHC, after years of wait, has disappointed people across the globe by failing to destroy the world. Fortunately, ther is still a good chance it could; they haven't even begun collisions inside it yet. But in all seriousness, this thing is completely safe and will not open a portal to hell.

New iPods
Am I the only one that things the new nano is not so great? The fat one was better. Speakers in the iPod Touch are a good improvement.

Fringe
New show by J. J. Abrams, AKA the guy who made Lost, starring a female government investigator, a mad scientist, his genius estranged son, and a multitude of mysteries loosely based in science. (Hence the title) My impression: Awesome. The world needs more pseudoscience, if only to counterbalance Mythbusters. You can check out the pilot here. (Warning: about the length of a feature film)

Ok so i may be over exaggerating a bit but come on. If people on the internet say the world is ending, you cant help but be a little anxious yourself. I did however see on digg that the world may not actually end but who knows. so just in case, I'd like to thank our readers (HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA) how much fun (BAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH) we've had over the past 2 or so years. So (hopefully not) good bye world!

So I created a desktop background for all our wonderful readers.

You can download the high resolution version here. Notice you can upload photos to this album. This is so others can put desktops up there too. On that same page there is a version without text because Photoshop has this great new thing called layers and you should try them because they are really quite wonderful. The moon was rendered grayscale in Maya (3d modeling software). Everything else was Photoshop. As far as the space theme, not at all relevant to our blog except for the text. I figured it was a good explanation as to why there are so few posts on this blog, connection is spotty on distant planets.

I'm BACKKKKK!
Yes it is true, I am back for good (hopefully), and i will be posting regularly in an effort to get more people (other than g-mans mom) to read the blog. So I am going to write weekly music reviews. This week...Girl Talk!!

Ok, so I know what most of you are thinking "What is this sh*t? The new Polly Pocket cell phone??" Well FYI its not. Girl Talk (or Gregg Gills) is a mash-up DJ who takes different parts of songs (i.e. lyrics, harmonies, etc.) and mixes them with other parts of different songs. Basically, it is amazing. He just came out with a new album titled Feed The Animals which you can buy directly from his myspace.

I strongly recommend downloading his music. This guy is really innovative and I can't wait till he comes to SF.

Have you noticed that the larger a vehicle is, the more suspicious it looks? Take for example, this car.
Fairly innocent looking. But this one is a different story:
Now we are getting creepy. What cargo could it be holding inside? There are, however, some exceptions to this rule.
Nothing suspicious about this truck at all. So remember kids, if you are trying to smuggle some illegal-type cargo across some country-type border, drive a Dunkin' Donuts-type truck.

Deal or No Deal

You know what? I'm actually going to make a post about Deal or No Deal. I strongly dislike this show. This is not the fault of any of the creators of the program, but the contestants that somehow get on the show. None of them know anything about statistical probability. In fact, this is probably for a good reason. If only mathematicians were on the show, who would be making the money? Not the network. This leads me to believe the true problem is not the contestants, but the people in charge of picking the contestants. Ignoring these people, Deal or No Deal is one of the many practical applications for statistical probability. As Pseudar says, "It is one of the many practical applications for statistical probability." He also goes on to say he is referring to the algorithms used by the banker to decide the "deal". I have figured out these algorithms and reveal to you the great secret:
First, calculate the theoretical value of the suitcases left on the board. That is, the expected amount of money the person will win.
Then, pick a much, much lower number. This is the deal. If you are desperate, pick an only slightly lower number.
Lastly, wait for the contestant to win between $.01 and $5.00.
If you are the banker and are dealing with mathematicians or probability theorists, my best advice is to take the money, jump through the glass on a motorcycle, do a few donuts, team up with Jason Bourne, and flee the country.

The Untethering, Pt. 2

It has now been exactly 165 hours since my internet was cut, and as promised, it has resumed. How did my experiment into technological separation go? As K-Rizzle predicted, I actually did cave in after only 2 days. However, 95% of my internet use during this past week was for school research purposes.

With my tap into the electronic global consciousness running dry, I had a whole lot of new time on my hands. As I stumbled out of my darkened room, a ray of sunlight hit my uncertain face. I picked up my sketchbook and my pen, and I set out to sketch the natural world. I'll post my drawings later.

I also slept much better.

On a much different note, someone named "Mulifuncional" posted a comment on our blog. He currently has a spanish language review of the latest inkjet printers. This first anonymous commentator who isn't secretly someone we know may become our key to internet fame, so let's not jeopardize it.

What's the Deal?

So I screwed up the blog month thing. Whoops. Oh well. But honestly I don't have much to talk about. I would talk about all the dumbasses on Deal or No Deal, but you can't fit that on one blog post.
As far as Apple news, the iPhone SDK was released. I downloaded it and have been playing around with it and it is extremely powerful. People are saying that this will be huge for gaming; with the iPhone's touchscreen, tilt controls, and 3d graphics, I would have to say they are right. Plus, it is easy to develop for if you have developed for the Mac before. (Like me) And I assure you that Slopinator will be available for the iPhone come June, along with the new 2.0 desktop version.
I don't want to just talk about Apple crap, but I don't have anything witty at all to say. All I've been doing is playing this cool flash game called Shift 2. It's a cool negative space puzzle platformer. I basically just used every gaming term I know. Its great way to come up with game ideas. The Untethering, Pt. 1

For reasons that are too complex to articulate in this blog post, my internet will be cut in approximately 15 minutes, and it will resume exactly one week from now. This may seem like a bad thing and I will suffer as a result, but I am also viewing this as an opportunity to experiment.

What would really happen if I went for a week without internet access? For most research purposes, I will have to use Encarta '97, Microsoft's minor attempt to digitize all of the world's known information. We have become so dependent on the internet as a society, and with the disconnecting of my internet cable, I am being set free.

If it becomes too painful, I can find ways back to the interwebs.

Today I was walking towards my front door, just getting home from school. But something was amiss. Where was it? Where was the little brown box that was to arrive today? Right on cue, the UPS truck pulled up our driveway. It seems like our driveway was designed for dramatic entrances. First a rumbling noise that gradually gets louder. Then the sound of the branches scraping against the top of the truck. Then the first sight of its brown exterior. What is this package, you might ask? Well, its only LEDs. 1000 soon to be glowing LEDs. I don't know what, but I'm going to light something up. A t-shirt is a definite possibility.

Say Hello To My Little Friend

Today I had a double period of Social Issues "class". I put class in quotes as this "class" pushes the definition a bit. Most of the time we have the exact same discussion each day for weeks at a time. When I say exact I mean exact, almost word for word. You could see how this could get boring. So for me the class is an opportunity to work on stuff for other classes. Today, however, we had an "assignment". See those quotes again? Our assignment was to split into groups with boys and groups with girls to look online for five pictures of people of our sex that are considered attractive. Why do we look for pictures of people of our sex? I suppose it is to make it as awkward as possible. So, I picked the usual suspects: Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, Justin Timberlake, etc. But for my fifth picture I added in someone you would not in your right mind pick. Say hello to my little friend:
Typical me, trying to be funny. Unfortunately, no one thought it was a joke. So now every girl in my class is either attracted to Sylvester Stallone or thinks that I am a freak. For their sake, I hope it is the latter.

Edit:I neglected to mention that Pseudar was in my group and that Zac Efron was also included in our list of hot men.

This is the hilarious song called Macarron Chacarron. And according to iTunes, it is not only real, there are multiple versions of it.

Wikipedia has an article about it, and reveals some interesting information about why the song has its "lyrics". It turns out this was a rough version of the song where the "ualuealuealeuale" was to be replaced by actual words. People liked the mumbling better, though, so they kept it as the rough version. Best decision ever made.

MacWorld Keynote

So, today was the MacWorld Keynote. I have to say it was kind of disappointing. The new MacBook Air looks cool, but it isn't something I would ever want. And their was no news about the upcoming iPhone SDK, which was all I wanted to hear. The one thing that interested me slightly was the iPhone Apps coming to the iPod Touch, but Apple is making you pay for something that should be free. I guess I'll have to wait till Februrary when the SDK is released to have something interesting to talk about.

Why Customization is Bad

Apple didn't let people do much with their iPhones... so the hackers came along and let people do too much. As an example, here is an iPhone theme that two of my friends use and think looks cool:

The problem is that some people abuse their ability to customize how something looks. Take MySpace. Every element of a MySpace page can be customized, and most people don't know how to use this to their advantage. Good example below:

It gets worse when you scroll down, see for yourself.

Sites like Facebook, however, keep every profile looking decent by using a consistent look. Facebook's problem, however, is the hundreds of Facebook "apps" that people add to their profile.
Lesson learned: Too little customization is bad, but too much is worse.

Skitch

I got invited to the beta of a cool mac software called Skitch.

You can take screenshots, draw on top of them, and then drag out an image file to use in any application or you can upload it to your online Skitch account and embed pictures in places like blogs. The picture above was uploaded and embedded with Skitch. First person to comment gets my invite. Next person has to be invited by the first person, etc., etc. You don't know how convenient this is. If only Sapiens recognized it...

Smearing Our Name All Over the Internet

You probably have noticed some new buttons on the sidebar and under the posts. I toss around the word "probably" alot, but the point is that you should look right now for these buttons. On the sidebar, you can digg, share on facebook, add to del.icio.us, and stumbleupon. Under posts, we have digg and facebook. The buttons under posts apply only to that specific post, while the ones on the side are for the main page. Unlike the rest of the internet, you might not know what all these sites are. Here is my handy guide to these websites.

Digg: A "news" site. People vote to "dig" an article or "bury" it. Articles with the most diggs make the front page. Since Digg is so popular, front page = famous.

Facebook: Social site designed for girls who like to post hundreds of pictures of themselves making strange faces. People can invite you to add apps, 90% of which are quizzes/advertisements. The average Facebook member has 11 friends that they don't think they actually know but added them because they aren't sure. I think everybody reading this knows what Facebook is.

Del.icio.us: They call it "social bookmarking". I honestly don't have any idea what it is and don't really care. All I know is that it is popular and can somehow magically make your site popular.

StumbleUpon: Poor man's Digg. Dumb logo.

All these are part of an effort to increase our sad amount of traffic we get. I even think that the Digg button is working; we have two diggs, one of which is mine and the other is some form of spam bot.

LOL its BLOGGING IRL

Today I was thinking about moving some of our entirely virtual blog out into the real world. I want to get stuff out into a physical form that someone can find somewhere, look at, and pass on. I want to devolve AKoKK into a paper form and then pull people back into our blog on the internet. My idea is to make a collection of writings and drawings folded from a single sheet of paper that gets passed from person to person. And we would make a bunch of cheap black and white copies to give away for free. If you don't know what I'm talking about, I mean a zine. I got the idea from a book I got for Christmas about what zines are and how to make them. Its the kind of thing that can be about whatever you want- it can be about all kinds of crazy crap.

Note: I wrote this really late at night and decided to post this now. I still like the idea, though. It took me a while to decide to spell that last part "crazy crap" or "krazy krap". I went with the more subtle and grammatically correct one.

DC Adventures

Besides the various famous monuments that reside in Washington, D.C., I saw many things that, although less well-known, were just as interesting. In addition to what I saw at the airport (see earlier post), I witnessed one of the interactive displays at the Smithsonian proudly showing the dreaded "Blue Screen of Death". A boy there says to his dad, "How do you use this?" His dad replies, "That means that its broken. You'll get used to that screen." Seriously people, if you're going to use Windows, at least upgrade to XP.

I also passed by the holy church of Scientology. Want to hear a joke? Scientology!

One of the coolest things I saw, though, was what is quite possibly the longest escelator in the world. Located at the Metro stop in DuPont Circle, it is not something you would want to walk up. Trust me, I would know; the escelator just happened to be broken when I was there. Pictures soon.

The Internet is down at the hotel so I'll post this when I can.

Now I am in Vermont. The internet is working just fine here so I am posting all of this. It was a nice drive here, we got to enjoy the scenery of at least 20 car accidents on the icy snowy road. There was lots of traffic because two cars had crashed on opposite sides of the road leaving just enough space for one car at a time to go through. Also, pictures soon.

Just got to the airport in DC. At one of those screens that shows flight status, there was a system error revealing that the computer running the display was using Windows 2000. Its good to know that our airplanes are run by Windows 2000. Right now I am at the hotel watching the sunrise and feeling very tired. Luckily there is a bagel shop across the street.

Hello Everyone!
Sorry for the absence in posting. I had just finished my last post when suddenly Lithuanians came and abducted me! I managed to escape from their clutches long enough to hop on a boat to Mexico, where I worked as an orange vendor to try and make enough money for the long trek back to the U.S. I did survive the long trip but I made many new friends along the way (i.e. Paco, Betsy, Eduardo). Since my return I have been very disappointed in the US. on http://www.clickclickclick.com/ we are number 11!!! WTF!!!!???!!!!!! COME ON AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!! If we al do 998 clicks a day, we might even be able to beat Japan.

The Requisite Stencil

Pretty cool, huh?

Here's how I madet the stencil and print:

I traced the logo onto a transparency with sharpie

I cut it out

Then I painted it over the the stencil on piece of paper

After a few attempts, I managed to get a good print.

Total Time Elapsed: 45 minutes

I tried doing this with an old t-shirt, but if the background is even slightly darker than the paint, it looks terrible. Also, the shirt now wreaks of Xylene, and the inhalation of even small quantities of this chemical can cause all sorts of horrific symptoms. I will attempt screen printing next weekend.

Oh, I got sick too! Over the weekend! I just didn't post about it!

Yes, on Sunday I got a migraine. First there was the aura. Weird colorful geometric shapes in my vision. And I couldn't see my pinky finger. It just kept disapearing whenever I looked at it. Then my head started hurting so bad. Then came the nausea. I layed down for about 30 minutes. I got up and asked my mom for some medicine. She gave me a few pills. RIght after she gave them to me I threw up. I completely emptied the contents of my stomach into the toilet.

I would give a picture, but I don't have one.

My head still hurt but I felt a bit better. I went to sleep for a few hours, and woke up feeling good as new!

Sick

And it sucks just as bad every single time. You might think I'm crazy, but I don't like missing school. More specifically, I don't like catching up on all my work after I get back.

I woke up yesterday morning feeling very sick, which was an improvement from the night before. This is how my morning went.

Homework and Sleep are Overdue for a Truce

Why is there so much hatred between sleep and homework? Or, I should say, why is there so much hatred between Kael and anything related to homework? The answer is unknown. Kael is a hopeless addict to everything made by sleep. He praises sleep almost to the point of worship.   Kael seems to think that I hate sleep and love homework. Strange notion, considering the fact that I OWN A BED. Yes. I own a bed. I think that beds are amazing things. They are much easier to use than many pencils. However, I, unlike Kael, do not despise homework. I used a pencil for a long time and I find that homework is superior to sleep in many aspects.   What I don't see is why bed owners can't just be at peace with pencil owners, and pencil owners at peace with bed owners. It's just an object. Don't judge someone personality by their writing/sleeping device.   Sleep and homework need a truce. Stop arguing about pointless things. Homework is better for buisness, sleep is better for fun, sleep is good for this, homework is good for that, wah wah wah. It doesn't matter.   Although Kael can still continue with his sleep posts. Just stop including me in them, because I don't hate sleep.

Macs and PCs are Overdue for a Truce

Ah, so much news recently. How to write it all? Paragraphs just won't do. No, its time to bring out the big guns. Or, rather, bullets.

Advertising. MochiAds has finally opened to everyone. What it is is an ad system for flash games. It is completely free for flash game designers and the only catch is that they don't pay you until you make at least $100. Because everyone who reads this blog designs flash games.

Portal. A flash version of the new game Portal has been created and now I really want the real Portal. Be prepared to be addicted.

Halloween! Its coming up, and I think Krazy Krap might get a costume soon. Stay tuned.

Vlogging. No, not us. But one of my favorite bloggers Dave from Blogography has started vlogging.

Alogging? I swear there will be another podcast soon. And it might be funny, but no promises there.

So, me and some friends are making a movie for the Insomnia Film Festival. On the right side of the page I have put a countdown timer. Edit: No there isn't. ~~As of writing it reads~~ This timer shows how much time we have left to submit our movie.

Now we are done writing our script and are almost done filming. What's left is to edit, voiceover, score, and upload. I've got to stop blogging, I have some work to do.

Breaking Through

I forgot. Okay? I forgot that when you bash Windows, you get little bits of glass stuck in your hands. And it hurts. And you have to get tweezers and pick them all out.

In this case, Gman was an appropriate substitute for glass. So now I have to replace this broken window. And this post is like the cardboard that you put up before the replacement you ordered. Except this post is higher quality then cardboard, more like plywood.

So the glass is coming you guys, just wait. When, you ask? In 3 to 4 days, according to UPS. I'll leave you to guess what the new glass is a symbol for. Look into your soul. Think deep. Or just ask in the comments.

Using Vista is like being constipated. It really hurts, but you have to do it anyway.

Ignoring that metaphor for a moment, just listen to me with your eyes. Buy Leopard (that's OS 10.5, you microtards).

Treacherous

So I installed Vista on my MacBook.

It was relatively easy, except I uninstalled because I thought something was wrong when some DOS crap showed up during startup. It kept saying stuff like "Failure!" and "Partition" leading me to think it was erasing my Mac OS X. So I reinstalled it, and the same crap came up. Turns out you just have to wait a while and Vista starts up.

Now I can finally play Knytt Stories.

I feal like a traitor. I feel treacherous.

I'm sick.
I have this sore throat, cough, runny nose, etc., you know, all the usual ailments. Rather than consult a doctor, or take an advil, I tried to cure this plague with the internet. I've started to get interested in podcasts all over again and have been watching the Ricky Gervais video podcast.
Here's the latest video that came out recently, it really is hilarious.

When I tired of Ricky, I moved on to Instructables. However, I couldn't find a project that wasn't extremely ambitious, although I really want one of these beanbag sofas. The silver lining to all this is that I will probably feel better in the morning.

Edit: Try and download the video from the podcast instead of that youtube one. The youtube one has this annoying laugh track, and the podcast one is better quality.

It is Thursday night and tomorrow is Friday (No Way, right?). I have nothing to do, because I have finished all my homework.

So, I am making this post. What is this post about? Nothing. There is no hidden humour, no sublte jokes, nothing. I am not attempting to seem cool, funny, or anything else.

I am bored. So bored that I am posting on this blog. I am seiriously bored. Ugh, this really sucks.

Anyway, I'm going to go do something else to try and cure my boredom.

So, once again, I return for another year of school, and I've got all the big guns ready.

iWork '08. I really hate Microsoft Office, and now I can use a genuine Apple product for this kind of stuff. It lets me import and export Word, Powerpoint, and Excel documents, so I don't have to worry about compatibility issues.

Vulture Detterent. Always be prepared.

My Brain. I actually had trouble finding this sucker.

Lots of Luck. How else do you do good in school?

The Ricky Gervais Show. Starring Karl Pilkington, the round-headed buffoon. The best way to counteract a day of learning.

My new iMac and it's awesome specifications.

As I said, I got a new iMac. I don't regret it at all. I went to the apple store with my dad after getting back from high school oreintation. The "mac genius" helped us pick out what to get. He had my old blue nikes, so I knew he was cool. I told him I was going to get a 20 inch iMac with 2.4ghz of whatever. Blah blah blah, I ended up getting this sweet computer.

I have 2gigs of ram, 320 gigs of hard drive space in addition to a 320 gig external harddrive.

I downloaded this cool program called boot camp and then installed vista onto my computer. I found a neat way to save 200 dollars too! I used an upgrade version of vista, but I found you could upgrade off of the upgrade CD!

I also got a free 30 gig video iPod with the purchase of my new computer. I have a nice wireless mighty mouse, a sweet new .Mac account (I got $30 dollars off, how could I not buy it?), and Parallels desktop.

Parallels desktop allows me to run vista programs while booted onto OS X.

Sweet.

After months of silence, I have returned to AKOKK.

My good friend Gman got me into the fun and addicting World of Warcraft, and after over a year, I think it's time call it quits. Also, the planned "expansion" seemed excessively disappointing, and it's utter lameness has, in a way, served as a wake up call for us all. Goodbye, Vgeresh, my 70 Human Mage. Goodbye Forever.

In a slightly related story, High School is starting for all members of the Krazy Krap Krew, so to the viewer, (there is only one we know of) expect posts to slightly increase in frequency and interestingness.

I also built a giant airzooka and made a whole bunch of cool drawings, but more on that later.

The title says it all. School is Starting. *Sigh*. Summer went by so fast. I seriously want to cry. I think we all are aware of what horrors school holds. Essays, homework, teachers. As I type this, I am getting a lump in my throat. The sad music I am listening to is probably not helping. School. This post really is pretty stream-of-consciousness style isn't it? Ah, I don't want summer to end. High school is going to be pretty crazy. I don't know anyone else, besides the people from my school coming. I'm kind of nervous. Apparently there is a back to school dance, the Friday when school ends. I probably won't go, I'm such a party animal. Hah.

School, oh god, I don't want to go back. I really, really, really don't. 9 more months until next summer.

Oh, and I am getting an iMac tomorrow. For a nominal fee anyone may come to my house and observe it in its sleek beauty.

By the way, I am kind of bored. Someone please call me, I want to do something before school ends.

I just got back from Band Camp. It was totally awesome and I enjoyed it. There were some idiots in my cabin, but that is expected, right? Anyway, I am leaving early tommorow morning for another camp. It should be fun, but nevertheless I am feeling rushed. So, I am downloading a lot of music off of iTunes.

Hooray for iTunes gift cards, right? Keep them comin'. Also, I could use some burned CD's. I don't care whats on it, but give me your music.

Band Camp

Today I am leaving for Band Camp. I said it. Band Camp. I beg and plead and beg some more but my fate remains the same. I am going to...Band Camp.

I play the Clarinet, or at least I played it. I haven't practiced in over 40 days due to being out of the country, taking care of business before school ended. And, procrastination. I am completely unprepared to go to Band Camp. I will do miserably and play terribly. It will be 11 days of pure lameness.

Lameness? Isn't Band Camp already lame? It's Band Camp, right? Wrong. It is actually very fun. I went last year and enjoyed it. There were a few kids who fit the stereotypical "nerd" profile, but most everyone else was cool.

TLDR: I am going to Band Camp. I haven't practiced. Ouch.

See you all in 11 days, when I get back from band camp and immediately leave for another camp.

Buy One, Get to Vermont

Here I am, posting from Vermont on my summer vacation. My computer is broken, it won't start up, probably a broken logic board, probably won't be using that computer ever again. I managed to snag this computer for a moment to write this post, luckilly.
If you have been reading my Twitter, you would see that I was in the San Francisco airport taking a flight on JetBlue to Boston. By the way, JetBlue is a great airline. We hardly ever experience delays and they have excellent in-flight entertainment if you are always bored like me. The JetBlue terminal is new to SFO, so for some reason it is located in the International Terminal even though their flights are domestic. As a result, we experienced no lines in baggage check-in or security, despite the recent attacks in Europe and the upcoming 4th of July holiday (Because its my birthday!). So, we had two hours to goof off before our flight boarded.
On the plane, they had a channel where they were showing only episodes of The Simpsons as part of a promotion for the upcoming movie. It was a redeye, so I managed to get some sleep. (But clearly not enough, because when I woke up I felt like a piece of crap.) Once in Boston we met with some family and ate breakfast briefly where we started our three hour drive north to Vermont. I slept half the time, and unlike my previous nap, I awoke feeling refreshed and ready for the day. I looking forward to Wednesday, because it is like one of those rare buy-one-get-two-free deals. A holiday, my birthday, and the Transformers movie all in one day.
I'll return from my trip on the 28th and hopefully post some more details then.

Costa Rica and the Joy of Flying

I got back from Costa Rica on Friday. My trip was very exciting and filled with beautiful animals. I can't explain how cool everything was myself, so I am just going to rewrite the itinerary.

Day 1: I met the group at San Jose airport. I was traveling with my aunt, who teachers science at Keys school. 15 students from the 27 student class had decided to attend the trip. I felt awkward, but 10 hours of flying changed that. We flew to Dallas, Texas and then to San Jose, Costa Rica. We drove in a bus to a small hotel/lodge, where we spent the night.

Day 2: On our way to El Station las Tortugas (Station of the Turtles), we stopped at The Butterfly Garden. There were quite a lot of butterflies there. The entire place swarmed with them. We also say a sloth. Then back to the bus, where we continued the drive to El Station. We arrived at a dock and were taken by boat to the station. At 8:00 that night I walked the beaches patrolling for turtles. We say one leatherback sea turtle. This huge beast gave birth to over sixty eggs, which we took to a hatchery to prevent poachers from stealing. We wandered the beach until 12:00 at which point we slept.

Day 3: The day was uneventful, some fun activities interspersed with plenty of free time on the beach. About 4 kids played spin the bottle. I laughed at them and took pictures which I used to mock them. Losers. At 12:00 Midnight I was woken to patrol the beach until 4:00. It was really, really tiring.

Day 4: Another uneventful day. At 8:00 I walked the beach, this night only till 10. What a relief that was. However, it was short lived because...

Day 5: We got up at 6:00 today. We had breakfast, and then hopped on a boat with our luggage and went back to the dock. On the boat ride we say sloths, spider monkeys, and howler monkeys. Then we drove in a bus for about an hour. We stopped at a river to go White Water River Rafting. It was great, even though it was on a 2-3 rank river. Challenging enough for a noob like me. We slept in a hotel that night. My bunkmate did a strikingly accurate Asian accent, so we made prank calls to the other cabins with other members of our group. We designed two prank calls. The first went like this:

"Herro! You stupid for pick up phone. You know why? This a funny prank call! We laugh at you now. You retarded or something! We making funny prank call and you pick up phone and believe us. You retard!"

The next prank call went like this:

"You want order Asian sensation phone sex? We good, we have pikachu penis! So cute and mini! You wa-ant, you know it. Normally 10 darra for you, 1 darra. We give you sample now! 'Dis a sample of phone sex. Oh, yea. We having phone sex now. It good. Oh yea. Phone sex'"

Quite a funny night. Also, we had lighting that night. One bolt landed 15 meters away from our cabin. The window shook really hard, and scared the crap out of me.

Day 6: We ventured up a mountain and swam by a waterfall. It was beautiful and scenic. Then we went into town and bought souvenirs. We went back to our hotel and continued making prank calls. We did our phone sex call to some girl cabins. They all came to our room in the pouring rain to give us one dollar. They were only wearing panties. Too bad there was only one attractive girl in the group. Then they ran out of the room because they thought a teacher was coming. Once they got back to our rooms they called us and demanded we give them phone sex. What started out as a joke got nasty really fast. We hung up because the girls were getting to into it. I felt sick from the realistic sounds they were making.

Day 7: We left the hotel and drove to our homestay. The group got divided into 5 sub-groups. Each sub-group went to a separate household. We stayed with people who only spoke Spanish and worked on a farm. We had one translator. This was fun, the people were nice. I felt bad for them though, they lived in a lot of poverty.

Day 8: Early in the morning we got up and planted trees. I was covered in mud and soaked to the bone from the rain. Then we drove to a resort. It was amazing! The drive took 5 hours, but it was worth it. 3 swimming pools, a dance hall, mini-golf. (Don't tell anyone, but there was also a porn channel on the televisions).

Day 9: We spent the day at the resort. We went swimming in the pacific ocean, where we spotted some sea turtles. Huge waves, too. Then we went up to a mountain and watched scarlet macaws. We counted 130 macaws.

Day 10: We went ziplining today. I even went upside-down. What a thrill! Then we drove to the first place we stayed, where we spent the night.

Day 11: Early in the morning we got up to catch our flight. Too bad it was delayed 10 freaking hours! It was supposed to leave at 7 in the morning, but it left at 5 in the afternoon! What the heck do you do with ten hours at an airport? NOTHING! We landed in Dallas, Texas at 10:00 that night. We were bussed to Austin, which took 4 hours. I couldn't sleep, but it still brings me to the next day.

Day 12: At 2:00 in the morning we went to an IHOP to get something to eat. We hadn't eaten in 14 hours, and we were starved. Too bad IHOP had a 40 freakin minute wait at 2:00 in the morning. Who the heck goes to IHOP at 2? Texans, apparently. Instead we went to Denny's. I had hashbrowns with eggs over easy. We got to the airport at 4, when it opened. At 7:00 our flight left. I sat on the plane with two people I didn't know. A black guy with dreads and a skinniny white guy with gelled hair. Finally I landed back in Cali. It feels good to be home.

TLDR: Super fun trip, American airlines has lame service. Delayed flight. Animals. Cool stuff.
